China B2B Buying Agent
From Your BOQ to a Loaded Container

You already know what to buy — a BOQ, a spec sheet, a set of drawings or a supplier list. OZ acts as your buying office in China: we find and verify the factories, negotiate the terms, follow production, inspect before loading, and consolidate everything into one shipment.

Whichever brief you send, the same six categories cover most of what we buy: furniture & interiors, home decor, bedding & home textiles, lighting, kitchenware & tableware and hotel FF&E. See all categories, or read the China furniture sourcing guide.

Trade terms we quote

Four ways to
hand over the goods.

The Incoterm decides where cost and risk move from us to you. We quote on the one that fits your shipping setup, and we explain the difference before you choose.

EXW

Ex Works

You collect from the factory gate and manage everything from there. Cheapest on paper, most work on your side.

Best with your own forwarder
FOB

Free On Board

We deliver to the port and load the vessel. The most common choice for container orders.

Most widely used
CIF

Cost, Insurance, Freight

We carry the sea freight and insurance to your destination port. You clear import.

Freight included
DDP

Delivered Duty Paid

Door to door with duties handled. Fewest surprises, longest lead time to quote.

Least work for you
Money and risk control

Pay in stages.
Inspect before you release.

The structure below is the standard one. It keeps your money tied to progress rather than promises, and it means the balance is never paid against goods nobody has seen.

Sampling and developmentSample fees and any tooling costs. Usually credited back once the bulk order is placed.Paid upfront
DepositTypically 30 percent to book materials and secure a production slot. Before production
BalanceThe remaining 70 percent, released only after the pre-shipment inspection passes. After inspection
Freight and dutiesCharged according to the agreed Incoterm — nothing added outside it.Per Incoterm

Letters of credit at sight are accepted, and alternative structures can be discussed per project.

Fumigation & PhytosanitaryProvided for wooden furniture and packaging that requires treatment.
Factory direct vs. buying office

What changes
when we sit in between.

Many buyers can already reach a factory. The difference is what happens after the first quotation.

On your own

Factory direct

  • One factory's quote, with no benchmark to compare against
  • Licence, capacity and export rights taken on trust
  • Specification gaps discovered during production
  • Progress updates only when you ask for them
  • Balance usually requested before anything is inspected
  • Multiple factories mean multiple shipments and document sets
Through OZ

Buying office

  • Three or more factories quoted on identical terms
  • Licences, capacity and export rights checked before quoting
  • Specification gaps flagged before the deposit is paid
  • Scheduled progress updates through the whole cycle
  • Balance released only after a photo-backed AQL inspection
  • Everything consolidated into one container and one file
Common questions

Before you send
the first BOQ.

These are the questions professional buyers ask us first.

What is the minimum order quantity for B2B orders?

It depends on the product. MOQs are set by the factory, not by us, and usually range from one carton for stocked items to a few hundred pieces for custom production. We confirm the real MOQ with each factory before you commit to anything.

How do you verify a factory is legitimate?

We check the business licence and registered scope, confirm export rights, review certifications relevant to your market, and visit or video-audit the production line. We tell you what we found, including the weaknesses, before you choose a supplier.

Can you work with suppliers we already use?

Yes. Many buyers come to us with an existing supplier list and ask us to manage communication, quality and consolidation instead. We are also happy to quote the same items against alternative factories so you can see whether your current pricing still holds.

What payment terms do you support?

The common structure is a 30 percent deposit with the balance released after the pre-shipment inspection passes. We also work with letters of credit at sight, and for long-standing clients we can discuss alternative structures per project.

Will you sign an NDA before we share drawings?

Yes. We are used to working under NDA for hotel FF&E schedules, retail fit-out drawings and private-label product designs. Send your template with the brief, or ask us for ours, and we will return it signed before any file is opened.

Can you consolidate goods from several factories into one container?

Yes. This is one of the main reasons buyers use us. We collect from each factory, hold everything in one consolidation warehouse, check quantities against your BOQ, load under supervision and ship as a single consignment with one document set.

What inspection standard do you use?

Standard practice is an AQL 2.5 pre-shipment inspection on general merchandise, with AQL 4.0 accepted on some categories and tighter levels available where your market requires it. We send a photo report before you release the balance payment.

Do you handle export paperwork and China customs clearance?

Yes. We prepare the commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and any fumigation or phytosanitary documents needed for wooden items, and we handle export declaration in China. Import clearance at your end stays with your broker.
